Lecturer in Korean Language at Rutgers University
The Department of Asian Languages and Cultures at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey seeks a full-time Lecturer in the Korean Language Program for the academic year 2012-13. The appointment will be for one year with an expectation that it will be renewed annually, based on satisfactory performance; employee benefits are included. Applicants for the position should have native or near-native competency in the Korean language and fluency in English, and possess at least a Master’s degree in Language Education, Korean Language, Linguistics, or related field. Preference will be given to applicants who have a Ph D in Korean language education, and experience teaching all levels of Korean language at the university level in the United States. Knowledge of and experience in current second/foreign language teaching methodologies and familiarity with the use of technologies in language instruction are highly desirable. Duties include teaching Korean language classes (six classes per academic year). The review of applications will begin immediately and the process will continue until the position is filled.
