I cordially invite you to submit an abstract for the following NeMLA 2027 session (panel):

Redefining Advancedness in Language Programs: Communities of Practice, Pedagogy, and Assessment
How should we define “advancedness” in today's language programs? This session explores how advanced language learning extends beyond functional language proficiency to include learners' sustained linguistic, cognitive, sociocultural, and intercultural development. We welcome proposals that contribute to rethinking advanced language education through curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and program design.

Abstract Submission Deadline: August 30, 2026

Presentation Format: 15 minutes per presentation, followed by a 15 minute audience Q&A and panel discussion.
Abstract Review: Submitted abstracts will be reviewed promptly, and authors will receive notification of acceptance by September 15, 2026.
