Currently accepting submissions for The Korean Language in America (KLA) Volume 31-1

학기 잘 마무리 하시고 건강한 여름의 사작을 보내고 계시기 바랍니다. The Korean Language in America 31-1권에 게재될 논문들을 모집하고 있습니다. 특히, 이번 AATK 31회 학회에서 발표하실 연구들을 논문으로 준비하셔서 투고해 주시면 감사하겠습니다. 제출 마감은  9월 1일까지 입니다. KLA는 Scopus에 인덱스되어 있으며 Penn State University Press에서 출판되고 있습니다. 많은 투고 부탁 드립니다. 9월 1일 이후라도 KLA 투고는 연중 가능하며, 논문들이 심사를 통과하는 순서대로 연중 두번 출판되는 KLA에 게재됩니다.

또한 특별호 (Special Issue) 제안도 받습니다. 한국어 교육과 한국어에 대한 어떤 주제도 가능합니다. 이번 학회에서 발표하실 내용중 비슷한 주제의 논문들을 모아서 특별호를 기획하셔도 좋습니다. 관심 있으신 분들께서는 편집장에게 (김민주mkim@cmc.edu) 연락 주시기 바랍니다.

Dear AATK members,

We hope you have completed your semester successfully and are enjoying the beginning of a healthy and refreshing summer.

We are currently accepting submissions for The Korean Language in America (KLA) Volume 31-1. In particular, we warmly encourage presenters at the 31st AATK Annual Conference to develop their presentations into full manuscripts and submit them to KLA. The submission deadline is September 1.

KLA is indexed in Scopus and published by Penn State University Press. We kindly encourage you to contribute your work to the journal.

Submissions to KLA are accepted year-round. Manuscripts enter the review process upon submission, and accepted papers are published in one of the two annual issues in the order in which they complete the review process. We strive to ensure a timely and efficient review process.

We also welcome proposals for Special Issues. Topics may include any aspect of Korean language education or Korean linguistics. In particular, those interested in guest editing a Special Issue may consider organizing a collection of papers based on related presentations from the conference. Interested colleagues are encouraged to contact the Editor-in-Chief, Minju Kim (mkim@cmc.edu).

RESEARCH ARTICLES

11,000 words maximum
Any original research that is related to Korean language education or that can benefit learners’ understanding of the Korean language. We especially welcome studies that are data driven (e.g., corpus-based studies, experimental/empirical studies, pragmatics, discourse/ conversation analysis, functional linguistics, sociolinguistics, applied phonetics/phonology in classroom teaching, cross-linguistic/cross-cultural topics, heritage language learners and teachers, National Standards for Korean, and so forth).

FORUM PIECES

-Best Practices for Teaching (BPT) 4,000 words maximum (e.g., curriculum design, exemplary teaching strategies, effective assessment practices, professional development/teacher training, etc.)

-Voices from the Field (VFF) 2,000 words maximum (e.g.,opinions on teaching trends and practices, dialogue or commentary on articles published in the KLA or elsewhere, etc.)
