Call for Submissions to The Korean Language in America Vol. 29_1

안녕하세요?  The Korean Language in America 편집장 김민주입니다. 여름의 끝자락에 시원한 방학 보내고 계시기 바랍니다.

2025년  3월 말 발간을 목표로 하는  KLA 29-1권에 게재될 논문을 모집하고 있습니다. 29-1권에 게재를 원하실 경우 논문 마감일인 10월 31일까지 투고하여 주시기 바랍니다. KLA 투고는 연중 가능하며, 투고하시는대로 논문 심사를 시작하여 심사 과정이 신속하게 이루어 질 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠습니다. 논문이 접수되고 심사를 통과하는 순서대로 29-1권과 29-2권으로 나올 예정 입니다.

* 29-1권부터 연구 논문, 포럼등 모든 투고 논문에 대하여 글자수 제한을 상향 조정하였음을 알려 드립니다. (예, 연구논문 9,000자에서 11,000자로).

투고 방법에 대해서는 이하 공지문을 참조해 주시기 바라며, 지난 회차 학술지들은 학회 사이트에 로그인 하시면 JSTOR를 통해 보실 수 있습니다. 상세한 투고 방법은 학회 저널 사이트 (at: https://aatk.org/journal/)에서 찾으실 수 있고, 투고 관련 문의는 편집장에게(mkim@cmc.edu) 해 주시기 바랍니다. 회원 여러분의 많은 관심과 투고를 부탁드립니다.

Dear AATK members,

We are currently accepting contributions for Volume 29-1 of The Korean Language in America.  Papers may be submitted at any time but should be submitted by October 31st to be considered for inclusion in Volume 29-1, which we aim to publish in late March, 2025.

* Please note that we have increased the word limits for all contributions (e.g., the word limit for Research Articles has been increased from 9,000 to 11,000. See below for the new word limits for other article types).

All the previous issues of The Korean Language in America are available in JSTOR. Please refer to the Journal’s website (at: https://aatk.org/journal/) for submission guidelines and manuscript format. The guidelines can be viewed and downloaded as a PDF file.

Contributions solicited for Volume 29 are in the following areas:

RESEARCH ARTICLES

11,000 words maximum
Any original research that is related to Korean language education or that can benefit learners’ understanding of the Korean language. We especially welcome studies that are data driven (e.g., corpus-based studies, experimental/empirical studies, pragmatics, discourse/ conversation analysis, functional linguistics, sociolinguistics, applied phonetics/phonology in classroom teaching, cross-linguistic/cross-cultural topics, heritage language learners and teachers, National Standards for Korean, and so forth).

FORUM PIECES

-Best Practices for Teaching (BPT) 4,000 words maximum

(e.g., curriculum design, exemplary teaching strategies, effective assessment practices, professional development/teacher training, etc.)

-Voices from the Field (VFF) 2,000 words maximum

(e.g., opinions on teaching trends and practices, dialogue or commentary on articles published in the KLA or elsewhere, etc.)

BOOK REVIEWS

1,500 words maximum
