2024 AATK Conference - Local Chair's Message about Accommodation

Dear AATK members,

I hope this email finds you well! As the AATK conference is quickly approaching, I would like to remind you about hotel reservation and room sharing information as follows:

1. Hotel Reservation: The main hotel for the 2024 AATK Conference and Workshop is the IMU Biddle Hotel at IU (900 E. Seventh Street, Bloomington, IN 47405), which is a quick ten-minute walk from the conference venue.

Rates are $119 for a single queen and $139 for a double queen. Block cut off date is May 19, 2024 (The rooms are available on a first come, first serve basis, so please make sure to book by this date if you plan to stay at the IU Biddle Hotel.

Parking is located adjacent to our building and is $6/night

Room Amenities: Mini-Fridge, coffee maker, workout room

Nearby Amenities: There are several dining outlets and a bowling alley on site, there are also within walking distance of the Art Museum, 50+ restaurants and boutique shops.

2. Booking Instructions: Guests can book online with the GROUP CODE AATK24 at https://imu.indiana.edu/hotel/index.htmlor by calling 812-856-6381



-Please book a room directly using the link provided and call the hotel to add the second person’s name.

 -Both of your names should be on the reservation to check in.

- Guest will need to put a credit card down to guarantee the room, $25 deposit at check in, 48 hour cancellation policy

- The first person who arrives to check in will be required to put down their credit card for incidentals. The total cost of the room can be split between two cards, but the person with their credit card on file will be responsible for incidentals.

- Each guest will be required to show their ID to receive a key for the guest room.

- If you have more questions about the hotel, please contact the hotel directly at  812-856-6381.

3. Check-In/Check-Out: Check in is 4pm, check out at noon.

4. Roommate Search (NEW!)/Room Sharing: If you are looking for a roommate, please fill out the table provided here (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SH7XE5GPS-PxnSuQSYgTKPWarVs7oM4oO9U9hXjHSp4/edit?usp=sharing) and/or reach out to them directly.

5. Transportation Tips: Go Express Travel is the best option for traveling from the airport to the hotel. This can be booking ahead of time on their website goexpresstravel.com

6. AATK Participation Support Fund

AATK will provide a $100 Participation Support Fund to each registered conference attendee who stays a minimum of one night (at a hotel or airbnb) in Bloomington between 6/19/2024-6/23/2024. The support fund will be given at the conference venue (in-person) during check-in along with registration materials (name badge, program, etc.).

Further information will be emailed after May 15th to the registered members with more instructions about the support fund.
