필라델피아 국제공항에서 호텔/학교까지

날씨
필라델피아의 6월은 한국의 초여름 날씨와 비슷하지만 일교차가 크므로 유의해 주시기 바랍니다. 학회 기간 동안 최저 화씨 60도 (섭씨 16도), 최고 화씨 88도 (섭씨 31도)를 넘나드는 더운 날씨가 될 것으로 예상됩니다.

As the Local Chair of the 2023 AATK conference (6/15-17, 2023), I would like to share some important details regarding the upcoming conference. Coming to Penn from the Philadelphia Airport:
We recommend using a taxi ($32 flat rate plus extra charges for each additional passenger) or a rideshare service from the airport to get to University City, where you will find Penn and the Sheraton Philadelphia University City Hotel. This is particularly recommended after dark. Alternatively, you can take the Airport Regional Rail Line and get off at either Penn Medicine Station or William H. Gray III 30th Street Station. Hotel and Parking
The main hotel for the 2023 AATK Conference and Workshop is the Sheraton Philadelphia University City Hotel, (Sheraton Philadelphia University City, 3549 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104), which is a quick fifteen-minute walk from the conference venue. Parking at the hotel is $19 plus tax/day for hotel guests. If you share a room with your colleague, call the hotel to add the second person's name (1-888-627-7071). Please note that both of the guests' names should be on the reservation to check in. Parking at the hotel garage is $19 for hotel guests. Registration Table/Packet Distribution
You can register for the conference and/or pick up your conference packet (tote bag, name badge, etc.) in the underground floor of Sheraton University City Hotel on Wednesday (6/14), from 5 pm to 8 pm. In addition, on-site registration will take place at the conference venues between 8-9 am on Thursday and Friday (6/15-16).
Venue
The conference will take place in Claire M. Fagin Hall on June 15 and June 17, and in McNeil Hall and Stiteler Hall on June 16. At the venues, there will be conference registration tables, meals and refreshments, and institutional and publisher booths. Please note that it is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the hotel to the conference venue. If you need help at the conference hall, you can find a UPenn teacher or helpers wearing red Penn T-shirts. Network and Presentation Facilities
Free internet access and use is available through Eduroam or AirPennNet (https://www.isc.upenn.edu/airpennnet-guest). If you use Eduroam, you will need to set it up from the school you are coming from. https://eduroam.org/about/connect-yourself/. At every presentation hall there is a PC Desktop computer, speaker, projector, VGA/HDMI cable installed. For those who wish to use their personal computers to present, it is advised to bring your own adapter (if the above cables are not compatible) and power cord.
Meal Information
Breakfast (8-9 A.M) and lunch (box lunch on Thursday/Friday, sandwich on Saturday) during the three days of Thursday/Friday/Sat are served at the conference hall. Meals are provided only to those who have registered for the conference and dining survey, and you must show your conference name tag, so please bring your name tag.
Banquet
On the last day of the conference, Saturday 6/16 at 6-8 PM, there will be a banquet held in the banquet hall on the first floor Xi West (Dim Sum House, 3939 Chestnut St 1st Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19104). It is a 10-minute walk from the hotel and is limited to registrants. Please bring your name tag.
Weather
Although June weather in Philadelphia is similar to that of early summer in Korea, please note that there is a large daily temperature difference. Hot weather is expected during the conference, with a low of 60 degrees Fahrenheit (16 degrees Celsius) and a high of 88 degrees Fahrenheit (31 degrees Celsius).
Local Information
Philadelphia, home to the University of Pennsylvania, is the fifth largest city in the United States and is known for its diverse cultural attractions, historical heritage and food scene. University City, where the University of Pennsylvania is located, is located east of 40th Street and south of Market Street. Also, the city’s center, called Center City, is a 30-minute walk or 15-minute drive or bike ride (https://www.visitphilly.com/maps-directions/#downloadable-maps). University City and Center City are relatively safe. However, it is still a major city, so we recommend that you avoid walking alone at night.
