Now Open: Scholarships for Future Language Educators

2023-04-08 11:06

This forwarded email will be of interest to K-12 teachers for their promising students.

Dear Colleagues,

I am happy to announce that we are currently accepting applications for the 2023 Lead with Languages Teacher Scholarship Program.

Entering its fifth year, this program provides merit-based scholarships to graduating high school seniors committed to pursuing the language teaching profession in languages other than English. Scholars are awarded $1,500 per academic year (renewable up to $6,000 per recipient), as well as ACTFL membership during their participation in the program and for one year following graduation.

I invite you to learn more—including full eligibility requirements and submission procedures—and encourage you to share this information with interested students, school counselors, and your greater network.

When asked about their motivations, one Scholar has shared: “Teaching enables me to be a life-long learner and to shape the future change-makers of the world.”

As always, we look forward to celebrating this important step in a future language educator’s academic journey, and we remain dedicated to supporting the goals and dreams of tomorrow’s leaders in the field.

Please don’t hesitate should you have any questions.

Warm regards,
Erin Whelchel
