STARTALK Program Teacher or Cultural Assistant

3 instructors are needed to lead this program for 12 Korean language learners from Minneapolis and St. Paul.  Housing for staff coming from outside the Twin Cities will be provided.

The program is designed for learners who have language proficiency at the intermediate low level. Applicants must be from the Twin Cities area and in grades 7-11 when the virtual program starts in February. The program begins with a virtual session February through June, an in-person day camp in June in St. Paul, MN and a short virtual session in the fall of 2024.

More information on the job and and how to apply can be found here: https://hr.cord.edu/postings/10350

These free STARTALK Day Camps https://www.startalk.info/ in critical languages are funded by a US government grant, a collaboration of the Departments of State, Education, Homeland Security, and Defense, and conducted by Concordia Language Villages.

The ULTIMATE goal and the reason the program is federally funded is to advance interest in these languages for younger learners who will, hopefully, maintain that interest through university studies, and eventually become proficient speakers of these critical languages who might someday work in education, government, or private sector business.
