[Brown University] Visiting Lecturer of Korean Language
The Department of East Asian Studies at Brown University invites applications for a full-time Visiting Lecturer of Korean language, effective September 1, 2021. This is a one-year position.
An M.A. degree in Korean language and linguistics, language pedagogy, or applied linguistics/second language acquisition or related fields is required. Candidates should have native or near-native fluency in Korean and a strong command of English. Priority will be given to those candidates who have independently taught Korean to English-speaking students at the university level. Applicants should be able to teach Korean at all levels, and be versed in a variety of teaching technologies. The applicant is expected to teach a minimum of two Korean language courses per semester and work closely with other program faculty for Korea-related events and activities. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a commitment to diversity and inclusion are essential.
All candidates must submit a letter of application with a teaching statement, curriculum vitae, a teaching portfolio (including a list of courses taught, syllabi, sample teaching materials, and recent teaching evaluations), as well as a link to a teaching demonstration video of approximately 30 minutes and at least two letters of reference.
