Preceptor in Korean

The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at
Harvard University invites applications for a full-time Preceptor in Korean
beginning July 1, 2012. The successful applicant should be well versed on the
issues of teaching Korean as a foreign language, have experience in teaching all
levels of Korean, must have exemplary ability in comprehension and active use of
modern standard Korean, written and spoken, at native or near-native proficiency
and must be able to teach all levels of modern Korean.
Several years of experience teaching modern Korean at the
college level in the United States and specialization in Korean pedagogy and
second language acquisition is highly desirable. An M.A. degree or higher in
Korean Linguistics, Foreign Language Education, or a closely related field is
preferred; experience in teaching based-on multimedia and technology is a
plus. This one-year appointment is renewable, based on performance and
curricular need, for up to a total of eight years.
