[Georgia Institute of Technology] Associate Professor in Korean Studies

The School of
Modern Languages, Georgia Institute of Technology, is seeking a
transformational hire at the level of Associate Professor in Korean studies to
lead our dynamic and growing Korean program. The candidate’s qualifications
should demonstrate merit for a tenured appointment and minimum requirements
include (1) the PhD in Korean or a related field, with native or near-native
language fluency; (2) consistent scholarly achievement, with significant
peer-reviewed publications; (3) documented evidence of successful teaching and
active engagement with students; and (4) achievements in program/curricular
development or in community engagement. The successful applicant will
demonstrate interest in cross-cultural and content-based applied language
learning and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. This search is open to
any area of expertise in the humanities and Liberal Arts, including literary
and cultural studies, area studies, linguistics and second language
acquisition, education, history, anthropology, intercultural communication, and
other fields. Candidates are expected to have an interdisciplinary research and
teaching agenda as well as an interest in contributing to the service to the
Institute.
