[Duke University] Full-time lecturer in Korean

The Department of Asian &
Middle Eastern Studies at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina invites
applications for a full-time Lecturer in Korean language beginning Fall 2018. 

The initial contract for the position is three years and it is renewable in
increments of five years thereafter based on a demonstration of academic rigor
in teaching, curriculum innovation, professional development and service to the
field.  

Candidates should have an M.A. or
a higher degree in Teaching Korean as a Second Language, Korean Linguistics, Applied
Linguistics, or a related field with native or near-native proficiency in Korean
and English. Experience in teaching undergraduates in North America and the
ability to teach all levels of Korean language courses are required.  

Knowledge of teaching or conducting an
immersion program in the study abroad context, ability to develop multi-media
teaching materials and innovative learning projects, and experience with
team-teaching are highly desirable.
