Assistant Professor in Korean
The School of
International Letters & Cultures at Arizona State University invites
applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor in Korean. The appointment
begins August 16, 2012. Responsibilities include teaching Korean language and
linguistics courses within SILC; conducting and publishing scholarly research in
the field of Korean applied linguistics/Second Language Acquisition; supervising
and training graduate student teaching assistants; coordinating the Korean
language curriculum. Candidates must possess: a PhD at the time of application;
near-native or native proficiency in Korean and English; demonstrated knowledge
in the field of applied linguistics and expertise in Second Language Acquisition
with a special focus on Korean; ability to integrate new media and technologies
across the Korean language curriculum.
Desired
qualifications include: experience teaching Korean at the university level;
experience developing and teaching online courses.
